Beginners Guitar Lessons

Hey Friends!!!!
This is the basic introduction to Guitar Lessonz.....

  • First of all u have to remember that a guitar has six strings.

  • The thickest one is the 1st and the thinnest is the 6th string in a guitar.

  • The bars (gap between vertical lines on guitars neck) located on the neck of guitar are called frets.

  • To play a guitar one must have to know its basic Chords.

  • Chord is a combination of three or more different notes that are played together which produces an amazing sound.

So, how to play chords on a guitar?

E minor & E major Chord:

To play an E minor chord,

  • Place your middle finger on the 2nd fret (bar) of the 2nd string, and the ring finger on 2nd fret of the third string.

  • Push them hard so that both strings can vibrate freely.

  • Leave the rest of the strings "Open" without touching any of the finger.

  • Now pluck each string one by one and check the sound of each string. (the sound must be clear and each string should vibrate freely).

  • Now pluck all of them together all of them and feel the sound.

GREAT!!!! You have played an E minor or Em Chord.

You can also see in the following chart.

As you can see the Vertical lines are the strings and the horizontal bars (gap between horizontal lines in the graph) are the frets, and the dark black dots on the lines are indicating the points where the fingers are placed.

"0" means open, "2 " is the 2nd fret.

The numeric digits shows the no. of fret where a finger should be placed.

Now lets move the the next Chord which is called E major or E .
There is a slight difference in Em and E major or E.

To play an E major Chord,

  • place your middle finger on the 2nd fret (bar) of the 2nd string.

  • the ring finger on 2nd fret of the 3rd string.

  • and the index finger on the 1st fret of the 4rth string.

  • Push them hard so that all the strings can vibrate freely.

  • Leave the rest of the strings "Open" without touching any of the finger.

You can see in the following chart.

As you can see there is just a one note difference between Em and E. A single note can change the sound and feel of the chord, so be very careful while practicing the chords and keep your eyes on your finger while playing the chords.

Now moving to next chords,

A minor and A major:

For A major,

  • Place your index finder on 2nd fret of 3rd string.

  • middle finger on 2nd fret of 4rth string.

  • and ring finger on 2nd fret of fifth string.

  • let the 1st string be muted or don't pluck the 1st string and keep the last string open.

  • "X" means Mute the string or don't pluck.

For A minor,

  • Place your index finder on 2nd fret of 3rd string.

  • middle finger on 2nd fret of 4rth string.

  • and ring finger on 1st fret of fifth string.

  • let the 1st string be muted or don't pluck the 1st string and keep the last string open.

Open Major Chord Chart

Following is the open major chord chart of different basic chords.

These are all the basic chords of guitar which you should learn and practice daily. Remember that practice is necessary to learn guitar, at least give your two or three hours to guitar daily to keep your hands perfect and comfortable the on guitar.

Try to change the fingers from one chord to other as fast as you can, start it slowly but make it perfect then increase your speed because speed is the by product of accuracy.

To learn guitar u really need to work hard. In my view guitar is one of the hardest musical instrument .

Do not afraid from the pain on your fingers from the hard n sharp strings, practice it regularly. Certainly your fingers will get hard and you ll be comfortably playing the guitar.

After learning these basic chords, you must learn the strumming of the guitar.
